- TSA RAILCAR SERVICES, INC. - - RAILCAR AND LOCOMOTIVE INSPECTION ACTIVITY UPDATE - AS OF AUGUST 31, 2009 OUR RAILCAR AND LOCOMOTIVE INSPECTION ACTIVITY REMAINS HIGH. THRU MAY 2009 WE WERE UP 14 % OVER THE SAME PERIOD 2008. THRU AUGUST 2009 WE ARE UP 17 % OVER THE SAME PERIOD OF 2008. IN FACT, AUGUST WAS THE HIGHEST MONTH FOR INSPECTIONS SINCE APRIL 2007. THE ECONOMY CONTINUES WEAK WITH MOST INSPECTION ACTIVITY INVOLVING LEASE RETURNS AND ONLY MINIMAL ACTIVITY INVOLVING NEW AND USED CAR ACQUISITIONS. FOR THE REMAINDER OF THIS YEAR WE SEE FAIRLY STEADY ACTIVITY BUT SOMEWHAT AT A REDUCED RATE IN COMPARISON WITH RECENT MONTHS. WE ARE RECEIVING SOME ADVANCE NOTICE ON INSPECTIONS FOR THE EARLY PART OF 2010 AND HOPE THIS CONTINUES. Do follow up Inspections to insure Repairs are done correctly and completely. --  Provide Inspection of Equipment for Valuation purposes to firms such as  RAILSOLUTIONS  that provide valuation services of railcars and locomotives. --  Other services upon request.
