- TSA RAILCAR SERVICES, INC. - - INSPECTION ACTIVITY - UPDATE - FIRST QUARTER 2010 - WE ARE SEEING SIGNS OF SOME IMPROVEMENT IN DEMAND FOR RAILCAR AND LOCOMOTIVE INSPECTIONS.  THE RAILROADS ARE ALSO SHOWING SIGNS OF SOME INCREASE IN SHIPMENTS OF RAILCARS FOR MOST PRODUCTS SHIPPED BY RAIL.  WE ARE ALSO SEEING SOME NEW CAR BUILDERS PICKING UP WITH NEW ORDERS AND BRINGING SOME WORKERS BACK.   OUR INSPECTIONS OF RAILCARS AND LOCOMOTIVES DURING THE FIRST QUARTER 2010 IS UP SIGNIFICANTLY OVER PRIOR PERIODS AND SLIGHTLY EXCEEDED THE COMPLETE FIRST HALF OF 2009.  THE FULL YEAR 2009 ENDED 18 % ABOVE THE PRIOR YEAR,  HOWEVER 2009 WAS STILL DOWN ABOUT 28% FROM 2007.  WE HAVE ROOM TO HANDLE MANY MORE JOBS.   SINCE INCEPTION IN JUNE 1996 TSA RAILCAR SERVICES, INC.  HAS COMPLETED INSPECTIONS OF 35,240 RAILCARS AND 333 LOCOMOTIVES,AN AVERAGE OF 212 INSPECTIONS PER MONTH. THE FIRST QUARTER THIS YEAR IS AVERAGING 276 INSPECTIONS PER MONTH.  WE CAN STILL HANDLE MANY MORE INSPECTIONS AND HOPE WE HEAR FROM SOME OF YOU THAT HAVE NOT DONE MANY INSPECTIONS FOR A PERIOD OF TIME.   WE HOPE BUSINESS CONTINUES TO IMPROVE FOR ALL OF OUR CLIENTS AND WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO HANDLE ANY OF YOUR INSPECTION REQUIREMENTS WITH THE SERVICE AND QUALITY EXPECTED.   ANY HEADS UP THAT CAN BE PROVIDED ON POSSIBLE INSPECTION REQUIREMENTS OVER THE NEXT 2 - 3 MONTHS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.  I HAVE SOME INSPECTORS THAT HAVE NOT BEEN AS BUSY AS THEY OR WE WOULD LIKE. Do follow up Inspections to insure Repairs are done correctly and completely. --  Provide Inspection of Equipment for Valuation purposes to firms such as  RAILSOLUTIONS  that provide valuation services of railcars and locomotives. --  Other services upon request.
